Parafield cadets show-off their new flags after receiving their Semaphore badges from Chief Comr Ian Rickards at a recent South Australian Wing Parade held at the South Australian Aviation Museum in Pt Adelaide.
Using larger semaphore flags, specially made in Atlanta USA, five Parafield cadets have recently completed the Air League training workbook and will now become the Parafield Semaphore Display Team.
The display team will use semaphore signals to develop an integrated performance using music to promote the Air League and recruit new members.
Comr Tom Short, Federal Training Commissioner, said “The cadets are just remarkable. Not only have they learned all about sempahore, but also they have started work on a complex marching display that includes drill, deportment and showmanship”
