Victoria Group Education/Air Activities Scholarship Print E-mail

SDC10723The Victorian Group, in conjunction with Tristar Aviation Co Pty Ltd, QBE Aviation and Air BP is pleased to announce the four successful applicants in the Victoria Group Education/Air Activities Scholarship for 2009.

 

They are:
Sgt. Jayden Boyde and Corporal Jordan Van Deb Broek of the Cranbourne Squadron and L/Cdt Kane Chigwidden and Cadet Sheldon Cordery of the Berwick Boys Squadron.  All members were presented with their certificates, Student Pilot epaulettes and Log books at their respective Presentation nights in late 2009.

All four members of the Air activities section have just successfully completed a five day training week at the Ballarat training centre where they were taken through their paces from 0830 Hrs until 1800 Hrs each day with Group Air Activities Officer, Group Lieutenant Adrianne Fleming, Pilots from Tristar Aviation undertook the daily hour of flight training of each member.  All members completed another 5 hours of revision on Saturday 23rd January at Group Headquarters in preparation for their BAK exam, with everyone successfully completing this assessment .

Many thanks must also go to Group Commissioner Russell Owen for ensuring these would be aviators were well fed and in bed at a reasonable time in preparation for the next day of training.

Congratulations to all concerned, all Squadrons in the Group have now been set the challenge of producing the next four members that will be the successful applicants in 2010.
