Recently the Australian Air League was bestowed an honour with an invitation to meet with the Governor General, Her Excellency Ms Quentin Bryce AC in Melbourne.

Chief Commissioner Ian Rickards was able to speak with Her Excellency, and indicated to her our plans to involve her in the AAL Review at Runaway Bay next year, and to visit her at Yarralumla to present her with her badge of office as our Patron in Chief.

Chief Commissioner Rickards also spoke with Pamela O’Grady, Director Executive & Protocol Branch regarding the AAL Review at Runaway Bay,  she seemed quite positive about the function but it depends on the Governor-General’s other commitments and invited the Chief Commissioner to formally approach her with the invitation.
