The personnel of Queensland Group staff were joined by the Chief Commissioner and the Federal Training Commissioner in July for a two day strategic planning workshop to identify key needs and goals for the Australian Air League in Queensland and align these with the Federal “Strategic Directions” plans and outcomes.

Queensland Group is committed to taking an energetic & pro-active role in contributing to and ensuring the long term success and sustainability of the Air League at all levels

Officers from all Queensland Group Appointments contributed to the planning exercise, held in Hervey Bay over a weekend, to assess current Group strengths & future requirements; coordinate operational, promotional, funding and training priorities; and to match these with federal Air League Success Factors (ALSFs).

The workshop, facilitated by Group Executive Commissioner – QLD Allan Burgess, involved round table review of opportunities, ALSF ownership and allocation of specific actions to relevant appointments.

“Queensland Group is committed to taking an energetic & pro-active role in contributing to and ensuring the long term success and sustainability of the Air League at all levels, starting with the immediate priorities of our individual Squadrons and maximising the effectiveness, outcomes & recognition of volunteer personnel efforts and skill sets within the Group” states Mr Burgess, adding “The planning process continues and will undergo ongoing evaluation and benchmarking, but the workshop has been particularly valuable in re-aligning all appointments to the shared Air League values and mission statement. Queensland Group has enjoyed many successes in recent years and we are extremely positive about the future”.
