Whilst the rest of Sydney endured thunderstorms and rain, cadets and Officers from Keith Smith Wing in NSW enjoyed fine weather on the June long weekend at their annual Wing Camp at Bungonia near Goulburn. Through the generosity of former member Tom Larkin, the Wing was able to access 200 acres of farm land on his property for camping.
With the assistance of Sqn.Capt. Michael Chamley, and 1st Off Greg Adams the cadets from Parramatta and Padstown Boys Squadrons had the opportunity to build balloons, fly their radio control aircraft and other field craft activities. Several cadets from Parramatta Boys Sqn had undertaken the Air League’s Photography badge last term, and Cpl Malachi Mashiah and L/Cdt Nicholas Adams used the clear night skies to take some great astronomy photos.
With ample water and facilities such as toilets, the property is ideal for Air League camps, and NSW Squadrons who wish to learn more may contact Sqn.Lt. Charles Majarian through NSW Boys Group.
