Cadet of the YearThe inaugural Australian Air League Cadet of the Year competition was held in 1980 and there have been 76 winners since then – male and female each year.

As we approach the Award’s 40th anniversary, we have been compiling a list of those past members. A few names escape us – the records are incomplete and we do not have the names for the female Cadet of the Year 1989 and 1990. Also, some of the earliest records only list the names – we can tell you the first Cadets of the Year were Leading Cadet G Rashleigh (m) and Leading Cadet A Radovic (f) of Victoria but that’s all.

Were you a former cadet of the year? Can you help to fill in some of the gaps? We would love to hear from former Cadet of the Year winners, to learn what you went on to and the achievements you’ve made.

We are especially keen to hear from those winners prior to 1994, as prior to then most records were paper based and proven difficult to track down.
