NSW Church and Ceremonial ParadeOn Sunday 21st May the Cadets and Officers of NSW Boys and Girls Groups took to the streets of Sydney for the Annual Church and Ceremonial Parade. Starting the day with a multi-denominational service conducted in the Scots Presbyterian Church, the Air League then assembled in Martin Place for a parade through Sydney including a wreath laying ceremony at the cenotaph.
In May, the cadets and officers from Sunbury Squadron were granted the very rare opportunity to visit Melbourne Airport’s Aviation Rescue and Fire Fighting Service Station No. 1. Contained within the airport’s highly restricted area known as ‘Airside’ and little more than 200 metres from runway 16/34, Melbourne ARFFS’ main fire station is crewed round-the-clock by 17 specialist fire-fighters.

It is with a deep sense of loss that the League advises of the passing of Keith Robey, who was the first cadet of the Australian Air League and son of the founder, George Robey.
Members wishing to attend the funeral service are advised that is to be held at Rookwood Cemetery on Tuesday, 14th May 2013 starting at 1.30pm. Full details will be posted on the Air League website as soon as they are available.
A National Aviation Museum has been on the agenda of successive Australian governments since the 1960’s. The AARG is calling on fellow Australian Aviation Enthusiasts and the wider Australian community to get behind its campaign to create a formal National Aviation Museum for Australia by supporting and circulating the AARG’s petition to the Federal Parliament calling on the Government to finally establish a National Aviation Museum for Australia.
