  • AAL Review 2014 Reviewing Officer

    His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady CosgroveThe Australian Air League is pleased to announced the Reviewing Officer for the 2014 Australian Air League Review will be His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia. The Governor-General will be accompanied on the day by his wife, Lady Cosgrove.

    The Australian Air League is pleased to announce that the biennial Australian Air League Review 2016 will be held on Saturday, 1st October 2016 at Ballarat, Victoria. 

    Details of the venue will be advised once this is finalised, however details of the field, band and ball games competitions can be found in Federal Field Circular 01/2015, available for download pdf here (92 KB) .

    Under the cloudless sky of a beautiful Sunday morning in Canberra, hundreds of cadets and officers of the Australian Air League conducted a Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Australian War Memorial.
     

  • Balsa Model Design for AAL Review 2014

    The intention of this post is to clarify the size and design of the balsa chuck glider that should be utilised in the “Balsa Model Flight Competition” at the AAL Federal Review

    A few comments have been received that the use of the AAL Aircraft Modelling Class 4 Work Booklet could be problematic as there are several versions in circulation resulting in issues such as some workbooks having inconsistent plans, for one reason or another. A standard plan is attached to this document which may help those who have found the workbook plan inconsistent and feel they would be disadvantaged in some way.

    The Australian Air League Review 2016 will include a fun new Air Activities Compettion - Drone Flying. This competition which is focused on flight, the key to our organisation, is designed to bring fun and entertainment for members of all ages & their families at the Review.
