Vale Ean Vincent Rosenburg

It is with great sadness to advise all the members that on Friday the 3rd September 2021, Sqn.Capt. Ean Rosenberg passed away after losing his battle with cancer.

Ean Vincent Rosenburg joined the league 29th August 1996 and was the Officer Commanding Ross Smith Wing for the best part of 20 years and was also the Officer Commanding of Coffs Harbour Squadron for 24 years.

Following in his fathers’ footsteps, he had also been a cadet of the City of Brisbane Company of the Air League in 1939.

Ean was a man who believed wholeheartedly in the Australian Air League, and it’s aims and objects, working tirelessly for his squadron and the cadets, right up until his passing on Friday.

A true and honest friend, Ean was an officer and a gentleman who will be sadly missed by all his friends in the League.

New South Wales Group members extend their deepest sympathy to his wife Jan, daughter Laura and son in law.

RAAFA Wings Competition Winners

In July, the Air Force Association NSW ran a competition inviting their younger audience
to describe, in less than 25 words, why they had a passion for aviation. Two sets of Wings magazines were offered as prizes.

Both winners of this competition were Junior Cadets of the Australian Air League, Junior Cadet Ben Spratt of Sutherland Shire Squadron and Leading Cadet Alexander Finnegan of Edmondson Park Squadron in NSW.

Ben wrote, “I draw planes all the time. I spot planes and watch the flight radar. I also attend the Australian Air league where my love of aviation can be shared among other kids like me”.

Alexander aspires to be a RAAF pilot and an AAL flying instructor, and wrote “I am interested in planes and the magazines would teach me more about planes and, as it interests me, I read more which helps with my dyslexia”.

Congratulations to both of them!
