Get Involved

Back to Parent Resources

Air League isn’t just for the cadets!

There are a number of ways in which parents and family of cadets can get involved:

Become an Associate Member

Associate Membership is available to adult who would like to join in and provide assistance to the Squadron through the Branch Committee.

The Branch Committee is the Air League equivalent of a Parents & Friends Group, and it’s primary responsibility is to support the Squadron by raising funds, and providing logistical support, for the operation and training of members.

Here you can even put your skills to good use – accounting, administration, fundraising, trade skills and so on!

Become an Officer

Officers are adult League members who conduct weekly Squadron Parade Meetings, supervising and instructing Cadets in the programs and activities of the League.

Officers frequently are, or have been, parents of cadets – though this is not compulsory.

While advantageous, prior experience in youth leadership roles is not essential; nor is any formal aviation qualification – rather a commitment to youth development and an interest in realising personal development milestones and aviation opportunities for cadets.
