Jetstar are seeking committed and passionate team players to join them on an intensive four-year development program, commencing in January 2022.  As part of this program, you will be trained in the wide and varied skills necessary to carry out aircraft maintenance.  

You will get the opportunity to rotate through a variety of engineering tasks and to be coached and mentored by highly talented engineers. They are seeking apprentices in the aviation trades streams of Structural, Mechanical and Avionics.

Girls in Aviation Day – 2021

Girls in Aviation Day (GIAD) is a trademark event of Women in Aviation International, where thousands of girls take part in events across the globe.


GIAD aims to inspire and encourage young girls between the ages of 8-17 years old to view a career in aviation as a possibility.

Women in Aviation Australia are hosting three events this year. The official GIAD date is September 25th – due to the Australian love of football and the AFL Grand Final they will be hosting their events on different days.

Melbourne – Essendon Airport – Saturday 18th September
Adelaide – Parafield Airport – Saturday 18th of September
Brisbane – Brisbane Airport – Saturday 9th of October


The events are free to attend but, registration is essential due to limited spots.

Aircraft Drawing competition

Are you a cadet in the Australian Air League and love drawing aircraft?

Enter our Cadet Drawing competition for the chance to win model kit prizes!

There are two categories for the competition;

  • 8 – 11 years old
  • 12 – 15 years old

The only condition is you must be a Cadet who is a current member of the Australian Air League.

We are looking for the best drawing in each age group of an aircraft. The work must be a freehand sketch or drawing and cannot be traced. It may be coloured by pencil, crayons, texta or paints and must be the cadet’s own work.

To enter please scan or photograph your work and submit either on the Air League Facebook page, or email them to us competition@airleague.com.au. Please include your name and membership number on you entry.

The winner of each category will receive a 1/72 scale model aircraft. Entries will close at 9pm on Sunday 15th August.
