The Council of the Australian Air League has decided to expand the Diploma to two streams; General and Aviation.

The Diploma was introduced into the EDUCATION System to encourage members to pursue the study of Aviation in its many forms as well as other varied subjects within the AAL Syllabus. It is the highest award in the Education System and as such is a great achievement that the cadet or officer should feel proud to show to a prospective employer.

There are now two separate Diploma streams. The General Diploma and the Aviation Diploma, if both Diploma Streams and the Advanced Aviation Knowledge badge are completed a Gold Diploma badge will be awarded.
