Tonight the Australian Air League is fortunate to have the Governor of South Australia, His Excellency Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce AC CSC RANR attend the International Space Station hook up at the South Australian Aviation Museum, Port Adelaide.
At approximately 7pm (CST) 12 lucky cadets will have the opportunity to speak to Japanese Astronaut Koichi Wakata as he orbits aboard the ISS. A live NASA feed from the ISS can be found here.
The Australian Air League looking to expand in to Whittlesea.
On 9th December the Australian Bonanza Society visted the Lilydale Squadron of the Australian AIr League for their annual presentation evening. The Society is the Sponsor of the Squadron’s Cadet of the Year award and this year it was presented to Leading Cadet Mitchell Veith. Congratulations to all the cadets on a fantastic effort!
At the recent presentation evening for the Parramatta and City of Fairfield Squadrons of the Australian Air League, a milestone was celebrated for Gp.Lt Rob Robey of NSW Boys Group.
50 years ago Gp.Lt. Robey joined the Australian Air League as a young cadets, and in the past 50 years he has held a number of roles, including Officer Commanding of Parramatta Squadron and NSW Boys Group staff. Congratulations on this great milestone!
The Australian Air League Internet policy has recently been updated and can be found in Federal Administration Instruction No.77, available for download here. It sets out the standards and rules for the publication of and access to information, and for communication via the Internet and similar public computer networks. The Australian Air League wishes to actively promote and encourage the use of the Internet as a means of communicaton in the organisation, however at the same time wishes to maintain its high reputation in the community and protect the safety and privacy of its members.
Since the Internet Policy was first introduced technology has evolved to include mobile communications, digital media and social networks. Whilst it did cover particpation in all online communications, the policy now includes specific sections on social media for the benefit of our members.
The Form46i AAL Internet registration has also been updated to include the ability for units to register their social media sites as well as Squadron websites. All units with existing social media sites are requested to complete a form and forward to their Group Executive Commissioner for recording.
