Federal Training Instruction 03/07

The issue of child safety within the wider community is a serious issue and one that organisations such as the Australian Air League cannot take lightly.

The League takes this issue very seriously, and has adopted a risk management strategy for child protection designed to ensure that all adult League members are empowered to take action, where appropriate, in accordance with defined process.

Information on this personal safety policy can be dowloaded from the Air League website here.

2007 has started well in South Australia with the launch of another new squadron at Port Adelaide. While it is still early days the squadron is developing well and currently the Officers of Parafield, Munno Para and SA Wing are assisting to get the Squadron going. The new squadron is housed at the South Australian Aviation Museum which is a fantastic facility which is certain to fuel the passion and dreams of future aviators. The Museum features the only fully restored Royal Australian Air Force Spifire in Australia and many other unique aircraft from yester year. For more information on the Museum got to http://www.saam.org.au/

The realtionship between the AAL and the Museum is strong and the future is looking bright for Port Adelaide Squadron.

Thankyou to all the Officers and Cadets of both Munno Para and Parafield Squadron for their help in promoting the opening of Port Adelaide Squadron.

Boeing Family Day

On Sunday 4th March 2007, the Victoria Education Commissioner, two of the Regional Officers along with the Officer Commanding and a Cadet from the Cranbourne Squadron attended the A family/Fun day at Boeing/Hawker de Havilland, Fishermen’s Bend as part of the Victoria Group recruiting program.

The day was an excellent success with a few of the Boeing employee bringing along their Model aircraft to display and fly inside the Main assembly area.
They also exhibited a Glider from one of the local clubs.

We are very pleased with the number of enquiries that we experienced on the day and it is hoped this will result in members for several of the Squadrons.
