2020 CASA Wings Awards

The CASA Wings Awards were launched in 2014 and recognise the efforts of those who dedicate their lives to general aviation – either through individual effort or as part of a flying school or aeroclub.

The 2020 Award winners were recently announced and two of the winners have a connection with the Australian Air League!

Flying Training Organisation of the Year – Tristar Aviation

Tristar Aviation have taken out this category for the second year in a row, and are active advocates in GA, with substantial involvement in Women in Aviation, Moorabbin Airport Consultative Group, Moorabbin Airport Chamber of Commerce and the Australian Air League. Adrianne Fleming has been a long time member of the Australian Air League and until recently was also the Group Executive Commissioner for Victoria Group.

Young Achiever of the Year – Nathan Parker

A former cadet of Parafield Squadron in South Australia, Nathan Parker dreamed of a career as a professional aviator. Selected for the RAAF, he lost his left hand in a military bus accident which ruled him out from a defence career but didn’t stop him flying. He has since gone on to gain a CPL and aerobatics endorsement, as well as qualifying as an RAAus instructor!

Congratulations to all the winners – you can learn more in Australian Flying here.
