Air League Officer recognised as an RSL ANZAC of the Year

On Thursday the Returned & Services League of Australia (RSL) announced the recipients of the 2022 RSL ANZAC of the Year Awards, which recognise efforts and achievements given in service to fellow Australians and to the community in a positive, selfless and compassionate manner.

Among the recipients this year was Comr. Raymond Claude Bell OAM, in recognition of over 75 years ongoing commitment to the Australian Air League, over 50 years voluntary service as a band marshal at the Sydney ANZAC Day March, and his long service to the Air Force Association [NSW Division).

Comr. Bell joined the Australian Air League as a young cadet in November 1944 and has served in a many roles including NSW Boys Group Executive Commissioner. He is currently back at the Squadron level, as Officer Commanding Squadron at Moorebank Squadron where he still works with the cadets today.

The other recipients for 2022 are Mr Harold (Harry) Allie BEM of NSW for work on indigenous involvement in commemorative services and Dr Madeline Romaniuk for her work in the areas of mental health and other health conditions affecting veterans and their families.
